Glad to hear he's doing OK.  He's a lot cuter in your picture than the possum that was in my kitchen one morning at 4am, going through my garbage.

You must feel really good about rescuing the little guy.....and that you can find out about his progress. Hope it makes a full recovery. Over the years we have rescued a few owls caught in barbed-wire fences and taken them to vets who hand them over...

Reference: Hope it makes a full recovery. Looks like he'll probably get to stay the winter now, as they are worried that with him being gone for a week someone will have taken over where-ever he was sleeping by the time he's recovered, and we're...

Congrats on this rescue. I think it's especially fitting that an Aussie expat has saved the life of a marsupial. My first rehab was a possum and they're among my favorite - fortunately they generally recover well in rehab centers. Hugs!

I love every single bird! They are so beautiful and there's such variety and they are just a blast to watch! Yay, grackles! I love the boat-tailed grackles in the south US...their songs are unending and always changing.

I built myself a bit of a bird feeding station this summer. I originally built it hoping that the foxes would play on it if I put some food up there, but I got it up right around the time the kits reached sexual maturity and the family disappeared....

Grackles are one of my favorite US birds. I don't know why - maybe it's because I've rescued a couple of them so far. What I didn't know is that they flock together with Red-winged Blackbirds. I discovered this recently when a combined flock descended...
