Thank  you for the compliments! Slaz - yes this is a high mountain lake in the Rockies. Very little polution and no resident human population. The water is beautiful!

This is one of my favorite winter places in the world - Dream Lake in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park. This particular day I was up there with my best friend from childhood, Wendi - but going up there several times in the mid week (with no...

Continued from Day 59: Yep, what I saw in the back of the photograph was a curious young yellow-bellied marmot, peeking out from behind the rocks. I spent a lovely hour photographing this couple. Yellow bellied marmot males collect harems of females,...

Vicki and I stayed in Estes Park the night before to go out for an early morning photography excursion in the Rocky Mountains. I was disappointed at first that it turned out to be a gray and misty day. But the occasional patches of sunlight and the...

That is so cool!  At first glance I didn't realize this was a toy truck and thought I was looking at a real truck from a distance.  Very neat perspectives.

I must admit - we didn't have a lot of snow last winter, and I missed it - I only got to go x-country skiing once, and even then it was rather pitiful.

Oh, they ARE cute! You know, I almost asked if they were marmots. I saw a TON of marmots when I was descending Mount Rainier, and they looked a bit different (slightly different kind, I suppose).

I expect they were a different kind... this is one of several kinds in the Rockies. These guys do extend over to your coast, it might be that you did see some, but the ones you saw may have been older - these guys were teensy little youngsters.

Reference: it would also make a great bookmark I agree. It's a little weird to have a vertical panorama, I don't know that it would sell as that, but I might put it on my store anyhow... but definitely it would go well as a bookmark.
