Reference: Wow, that is so cool! It almost looks like a painting and not a photograph. Thanks. I have it on my living room wall in a 30x40 print on metallic paper. It looks even more like a painting when it's blown up. Part of the painterly effect is...

While that's a totally awesome camera - that whole line of cameras is - I am pretty sure that particular one can't shoot in Manual setting (you've only got a P (Programmed) setting that doesn't allow you to adjust shutter speed or aperture...

Excellent! That camera can do up to fifteen seconds of long exposure - which is enough for a lot of really interesting shots. I'll try to get a tutorial up by the weekend.

well no one could see the socks, they were inside the slippers, which I guess are more of sheepskin boots. And don't be silly, I wouldn't wear my pajamas until at least the sixth meetup or so, I don't get familiar with folks that quickly. Tsk.

Gorgeous!  There's something so lovely about fog and how it plays with the light.  While its too bad you got snow & ice in your slippers, you did get another great shot.

I whine a lot, but it's usually my way of getting clear about things I didn't like about something ... a kind of clearing house for negativity before I go ahead and do something anyhow. In that vein of thinking, I went to another photography meetup...

The Corner of Elkhorn Drive in Estes Park, Colorado. 6:30am, heading into a day of elk-watching. I'd love to do more of these sorts of urban panoramas of street corners.
